Another woman patient dreams about Italy; since she has never been there, Freud interprets as 'Genitalien' (genitals) the phrase 'gen Italien' (Italy-wards) which, be it noted, is so obsolete that the woman is highly unlikely to have actually used it. Freud's double standard becomes obvious when he fails to see any sexual meaning in his own dream about riding a horse through a narrow passage between two carts.
